Reign Drop is a trans artist, collaborator, and organizer. Over the last six years, they have grown roots in the Chicago dance community focusing on creating sustainable and accessible dance spaces for all ages. In the community, they have led an Improvisers’ Jam for Chicago Dancemakers Forum, performed for Alix Shilaci and Erin Killmurray, choreographed for New Dances 2020 and the iconic Chicago drag queen Shea Coulee’s “Rewind” music video. Reign aims to be heard—to share their story—to honor the stories of all magical trans people.

Virginia VanLieshout is a queer Chicago-based dancer and choreographer with a BA in dance and BS in biology from Loyola University Chicago. During their time in Chicago, they have focused their practice on building community and creating queer dance spaces. They have had the privilege to perform for the Jello Performance Series, Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble, Loud Bodies, Loyola Museum of Art, Collaboraction Encounter Series, Going Dutch Dance Festival, and The Vagina Monologues. In addition to their conservatory-style training, they are fluent in multiple ballroom and Latin dance styles. Virginia now freelance choreographs and performs throughout Chicago and dances with Queer Dance Freakout and The Hail Marys.

The JELLO Performance Series strives for full artist visibility and inclusivity by creating space for accessible, low-stakes, supportive performance opportunities throughout the city of Chicago. The series was created in response to a need in the Chicago dance community for a space where performing artists of all experience levels and disciplines could come together to share their work and support each other. The series values and upholds a safe, low-stakes, supportive environment, where anyone at any stage of their career can show any iteration of an idea on stage. In its evolution, J e l l o curators have expanded the series to different venues, imagining different ways a show could take form. J e l l o provides the space for curators and artists alike to try, risk, experiment, create, and be in community.
