Kicking off this evening we’ll have a group from Aaron Shapiro, a Chicago based guitarist, composer and member of The Eternals. His current project as a leader focuses on presenting an eclectic set of original compositions in the context of a jazz organ group. He’ll be bringing a newly assembled organ quartet to this evening’s performance featuring Chicago improvisers Nate Lepine, Paul Giallorenzo and Jeremy Cunningham.

This material debuted in New Orleans and now makes its first appearance in Chicago, continuing Diamond’s ongoing exploration of the spaces between composed and improvised music.
