Marda Dunsky is a print journalist and journalism scholar. Her most recent book, Stories from Palestine: Narratives of Resilience (University of Notre Dame Press, 2021) focuses on Palestinians in the West Bank, east Jerusalem and Gaza Strip engaged in creative and productive pursuits in their daily lives as artists, scientists, teachers, farmers, cultural curators, entrepreneurs and students – challenging dominant mainstream mediarepresentations of their community as being subsumed by oppression and violence. Dunsky is also the author of Pens and Swords: How the American Mainstream Media Report the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (Columbia University Press, 2008), a work of media analysis and criticism covering news reporting of the conflict from 2000 to 2004. Dunsky has worked as an editor and reporter at several newspapers including the Chicago Tribune and The Jerusalem Post. She has been a longtime faculty member at the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and is presently assistant professor in residence at Northwestern University in Qatar.

The daughter of immigrants, Sahar Mustafah explores her Palestinian heritage in her writing. She earned her MFA in Fiction from Columbia College where she was a Follett Graduate Scholar. Sahar is a Willow Books Grand Prize Winner for Code of The West, was named one of the 25 Writers to Watch by The Guild Literary Complex of Chicago, and is a member of Voices Protest and Radius of Arab American Writers. Her new novel, The Beauty of Your Face, was named one of The New York Times’ Notable Books of 2020. Sahar lives in Chicago with her family.
