Dislodge is a new performance created by Matty Davis and Eryka Dellenbach that will be presented in Chicago three times at three different locations. Two will take place inside private homes, and one will take place outdoors.
Created to push each other deeper, Dislodge attempts to access and shift or reconstitute something inner. Pivoting around one another’s vulnerabilities, Davis and Dellenbach use both their bodies and a collection of charged objects to exert, sustain, and absorb vectors of force that both push and preserve physical, psychological, and architectural bounds. Balances of power are brokered by shifting forms of consent, and must be continuously renegotiated as trust and intimacy are established and broken from one moment to the next.
Given current CDC health guidelines, space is extremely limited. In order to fairly accommodate audience members, those who would like to attend can sign-up for a given performance so as to be entered into a lottery system. Attendees will be selected at random. Tickets for the indoor performances are available on a sliding scale from $30 – $55, and tickets for the outdoor performance are available on a sliding scale from $10 – $20. You are welcome to sign-up for more than one performance.
