Weaving has helped me tremendously when trying to battle overpowering thoughts and emotions and it’s my goal as an artist/art educator to pass this wonderful art form over to you. I was a victim of domestic violence, it was hard for me to accept it but I was. Over time, I felt alone, used, and disgusted with myself. But I realized that there were people out there experiencing the same thing as me, although there were many times I had forgotten. This workshop is intended only for those that have been victims of domestic violence. This workshop is a safe space and will only be me and up to 6 other victims/survivors of domestic violence.

Because of COVID-19, I ask that all participants bring additional hand sanitizer and masks. This free workshop is open to people ages 18+, Men, women, non-binary, BIPOC, LGBTQ2IA, etc. I will not tolerate any judgment or criticism of myself or any other participants sharing their stories. This is a judge-free and safe space. I hope you will join me for this 4-hour workshop, time will be spent on introductions, basic weaving techniques, and of course talking about our experiences. Everything will be included including cardboard looms, yarns, and refreshments. If there are experimental materials you would like to bring to weave with (ties, shirts, jeans, ribbon, etc) please feel free to bring them, but please make sure they are clean upon arrival. Please sign up with the link below. It is a first-come, first-serve basis. Please, if you are not feeling well please email me right away. This will allow someone else to come who is on the waiting list. Please if you have any questions feel free to reach out.

Thank you,

Bryana Bibbs
