Shernett Swaby, in collaboration with René Romero Schuler, is pleased to announce Subject | Object, a pop-up runway fashion event. Inspired by Schuler’s solo exhibition Subjective | Objective at Zolla/Lieberman Gallery, Swaby has created looks intended to be seen alongside the gallery exhibition. Shernett Swaby, a Chicago-based fashion artist, has been featured in several local and international magazines as well as a top 5 finalist on PROJECT RUNWAY, the television series.
“Inspiration comes in a variety of forms. Fashion and its models are an endless source of discovery, intended to embody an ideal desired to be attained. Their poise, grace, beauty and seeming perfection are so elusive for most mortals, and yet in my work, I endeavor to communicate the fact that we all actually have those qualities and so much more within us. Our beauty may not be so readily apparent on the outside and often requires a bit more work for us to see it – but it is there.” said Schuler.
Subject | Object is a conversation between fine art and fashion, each inspired by the other. The artwork, profound and emotionally affecting, and the fashion, rebellious and chic, together convey beauty and strength. Spend an afternoon surrounded by inspiring artwork and fashion, provoking creative discussion.
