‘Lucid’ is a 3-person exhibition featuring Oscar Joyo, Frederick Nitsch, and Aidan Piper who are exploring the concept of the mind through the use of bold and vivid colors, layering, and rich texture.
Oscar Joyo is a neo-futuristic painter originally from Malawi and currently resides in Chicago, IL. His subject matter includes portraits of people from an African descent with layering of intricate line work inspired by African patterning motifs.
Frederick Nitsch is a multi-media artist. His purely abstract paintings are inspired by Rorschach tests and nature/space photography, and his mixed media pieces are inspired by the found photography used to create them.
Aidan Piper creates ephemeral collages from found objects and photographs his findings as a way to sustain their permanence.
