Opening Thursday, October 10th, from 5:30PM - 7PM
On view through Saturday, February 23rd
Join artists Jenelle Esparza and Melissa Leandro in the galleries for a conversation with Dianna Frid, Chicago-based artist, to learn more about the textile-based works on view in Remember Where You Are, an exhibition that brings together four emerging artists to make visible untold narratives of culture and place.
Based in San Antonio and Chicago, respectively, Esparza will speak to her research on Mexican-American labor in the cotton fields of South Texas, while Leandro will touch on the process of creating textiles that layer weaving, embroidery, and digital imagery with personal references to her mother, Miami, and Costa Rica.
Remember Where You Are runs through February 23, 2020
Presented in partnership with the Chicago Architecture Biennial, DePaul Department of Art, Media, and Design, and DePaul Department of History of Art and Architecture.
