Collective Memory: Queersalis Conversations is a panel conversation on how queer zine and print collectives of color thrive, organize, collaborate, and build community in Chicago. Feat. Marimacha Monarca Press, XicX Zine Collective, and Brown and Proud Press; three collectives that know each other personally share in conversation how they each came to their own and why it’s important to share their stories. In hopes of illuminating the power of writing our collective hxstories, this event centers queer, immigrant, and people of color narratives. This is an open conversation and the audience is encouraged to ask questions as well as network. Print media from each collective will be available for donations and sharing.

In conversation with Chrissy Puga & José Rosa from XicX Zine Collective, Daisy Zamora Centeno & Carmen Luz Corredor from Brown and Proud Press, and Moni Pizano Luna & David Escobedo from Marimacha Monarca Press, moderated by Estephany Guzman from Marimacha Monarca Press.

This event will happen in conjunction with Networks of Resistance, an exhibition organized by the international printmaking collective Justseeds, on view at Co-Prosperity Sphere from October 12 through November 3, 2019.

Collective Memory: Queersalis Conversations and Justseeds: Networks of Resistance are part of Togetherism, a two-month program curated by Public Media Institute to celebrate and examine the work of artist groups, coalitions, and collectives.

The space is wheelchair accessible including bathrooms, there are all gender single stall bathrooms, and entrance is free for this event!
