Evolving out of the Harlem ballroom scene of the 1960s, house and vogue culture was founded and created by black and brown queer folks in the 80s and has since grown to become a cultural staple of expression, performance and attitude – not exclusively to the community responsible for it’s creation.

Duckwalk to the Stony Island Arts Bank to get your tens and honor a night of vogue.

The evening begins with a special screening of FX’s hit drama series, POSE at 6pm. Followed by an open forum discussion, moderated by representatives of the ballroom and Black queer and trans community.

At 8pm: a vogue workshop instructed by the legendary, Adonte Prodigy. DJ Duane Powell will be on the 1s and 2s with speciality drinks served in the Johnson Lounge.

Much space for performers at all skill levels will be provided to show their best moves. Please bring comfortable attire + shoes for voguing, dancing and strutting. This event is free and open to the public.
