Elastic Arts invites you to Zoetic: a celebration of new visual, aural, and botanic art!

Born out of their friendship and the ways they have inspired each other, the evening is a collaboration between musical group Black Diamond, visual artist Marine Tempels, and founder of plant shop Ebimera Vines Nyabweza Itaagi.

Join us for Tempels’s visual exhibition, “Lost Effect Cause Found,” featuring houseplants and succulents by Itaagi, and a musical performance by Black Diamond as they release their latest album, Chant.

Doors open at 6 pm for a reception, including food prepared by Black Diamond bassist Matt Ulery. CD release show starts at 8pm, featuring:

Artie Black: tenor saxophone/ bass clarinet
Hunter Jay Diamond: tenor saxophone
Matt Ulery: bass
Neil Hemphill: drums

$10 cover. Elastic is BYOB.

Marine’s Visual Arts Exhibition, “Lost Effect Cause Found” explores the role of manmade environments in a world with rapidly changing weather and landscapes. The work is driven by questions such as, “Do manmade landscapes and the conservation of natural environments work against each other as solutions to changing climates?” and “What options are available for maintaining beautiful landscapes and growing enough food as we race against the clock?” The complexity of our relationship to the natural world, and the unknowable effects of our actions, inspired her work.
