Join ECLIPSING and the #LetUsBreathe Collective for an opening ceremony and festival preview of ECLIPSING: Death & Transformation!

The opening ceremony will feature an intuitive channeling by Alia Ra’naa Walston and a transformative, interactive workshop lead by Rhonda Wheatley and Sojourner Zenobia centering on transmuting emotional pain and embracing the unknown.

Vegan chocolate confectionary treats provided by Mindful Indulgences: Organic Vegan Artisan Chocolate Truffles will be sold at this event and various ECLIPSING: Death & Transformation public events and performance dates. A percentage of these profits will support the festival artists and performers.

ECLIPSING is a collaborative, multi-media festival, centering the work of artists and healers who find inspiration and strength within self-defined interpretations of darkness. ECLIPSING creates space for LGBTQIA+ artists and performers, namely trans, gender non-conforming & queer people of color, to cross boundaries between mediums, and to mobilize and harness darkness’s metaphorical and metaphysical qualities, creating space for reckoning and collective healing. The festival offers a constellation of events and experiences including a workshop series, a performance festival, a film/video screening, collaborative public programs, and a performative lecture.

About LetUsBreathe Collective
The #LetUsBreathe Collective is an alliance of artists and activists organizing through a creative lens to imagine a world without prisons and police. We organize artists to love and transform themselves, their families, their communities, and their cities through radical imagination and healing. The Collective produces cultural events and direct actions that disrupt oppressive systems, amplify marginalized voices, and serve people and communities most directly harmed by mass incarceration, police violence, and systemic injustice. We leverage access, power, and cultural capital to steward resources from the institutions that stole them to the people and communities who have been historically pillaged. The #LetUsBreathe Collective programs and operates The Breathing Room space, an arts, healing, and organizing headquarters and platform for liberatory and cultural work in Chicago.
