CULTURAL TRANSIT ASSEMBLY LAUNCH PARTY
Join the Floating Museum as we kick off the latest initiative, Cultural Transit Assembly, a year of free public exhibitions, inflatable sculpture, performances and train car installation to activate Chicago’s Green Line train. On Saturday, July 13th, 2pm at the Garfield Park Gold Dome Field house come meet the artists, enjoy food, entertainment and more!

Cultural Transit Assembly has six elements: a modified train car gallery and performances on the CTA Green Line, and exhibitions and programs in four parks including Austin Town Hall Park, Garfield Park and Washington Park/South Branch. Through partnerships with the Chicago Transit Authority and the Chicago Park District, Floating Museum will transform the Greenline into a moving cultural destination. All programs are free and open to the public; for more information, visit http://www.floatingmuseum.org/transit.

This event also highlights our community partner, West Side Cultural Arts Council as they present: “Soul on the Veranda” a part of their The P.L.A.N. (Peace, Love. Art & Nature) series featuring live musical performances.

This project was partially supported by Indiana University’s New Frontiers in the Arts & Humanities Program.
