Jul 26th 2018

In conjunction with the exhibition “Inquiry 01,” Spertus Institute hosts one of an ongoing series of group performances organized by artist Matthew Girson. During each performance audience members reflect on the successes and failures of democracy by reading and listening — to and for each other. The texts used in the performance include poems, letters, testimonies, and speeches of survivors of hatred, bigotry, sexism and other forms of oppression.

This program is free. Advance reservations appreciated. Participants are encouraged to bring their own readings about oppression or the failures of democracy.

Many of these texts used are cataloged on the januarytwenty.net
