May 26th 2018

Join Fugitive Narratives exhibiting artists from 2-4pm on Saturday May 26th, for a story-telling event that will activate narratives behind abstract pieces in the exhibition. On the surface, the exhibition features abstracted visuals of many kinds by a wide variety of artists. However the power of Fugitive Narratives lies in discovering stories hidden within the works. Each of the artists in this exhibition were chosen because they create nonrepresentational art based on personal narratives that go undisclosed when viewing the formal elements of the artwork alone. The stories for each sculpture, painting, or installation told in the artist’s voice accompany the artworks to activate the viewing experience and provide a deeper understanding of the artwork. Fugitive Narratives is curated by Mike Nourse, featuring artists Lynn Basa, Tom Berenz , Lisa Brunke, Dan Devening, RJ Eldridge, Candace Hunter, Diane Jurado, Caroline Liu, Christine Mitchell, Susan Redeker, Georgina Valverde in collaboration with Javier Dragustinovis.
