Madman’s Eye: The Art of Mac Blackout

@ Galerie F

2415 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60647

Opening Friday, December 8th, from 6PM - 10PM

On view through Sunday, December 31st

This solo exhibition celebrates the release of “Madman’s Eye: The Art of Mac Blackout,” a 240 page monograph and definitive guide to Mac’s work. The book covers Mac’s life from his early days as a pioneer of the graffiti movement in Indianapolis, through his time as a raucous fixture in the Chicago underground music scene, to his recent street art, mural, and studio work.

The pieces featured in this exhibition showcase Mac’s wide range of expression through different mediums: anthropomorphic boomboxes, found object art, drawings, and paintings. Mac’s work is anthropomorphic in nature, humanizing the energy in the inanimate and finding the cosmic qualities in city beasts. Through all work immense energy, dreams and inexplicable visions prevail.

Swing by Galerie F’s Underground space on Friday, December 8th from 6-10PM for Mac Blackout’s new collection of original works and to peep on his book release. We’ll be serving up beverages from our new friends at Collective Arts Brewing as well as bottled hydration from Essentia Water. As an added bonus Galerie F’s main show floor is hosting its yearly You Are Beautiful group exhibition with 48 artsits from near and far. Keep up with the event page You Are Beautiful: Chicago Billboard Miniatures for artist update and more information.
