Join Artists Nicole Mauser and Tobey Albright in a conversation about their current curatorial exhibition project, ‘Privates.’ In tandem with the public dialogue, Mauser and Albright have released a limited edition publication that is part exhibition catalog and part artist book. This full-color publication features images from the exhibition and a hand-printed cover.

Hosted by Gallery Director, Ryan Peter Miller, the event will be held in the H.F. Johnson Gallery. The artists will discuss the breadth of the project, including the physical publication and web features, and will receive questions from the audience.

American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation is provided.

“Privates” is a curatorial installation from Chicago artists Nicole Mauser and Tobey Albright. Ms. Mauser, a painter working in the language of abstraction, and Mr. Albright, a freelance graphic designer, have prepared an exhibit of their private art collections. For “Privates”, the gallery functions as a viewing room, making public an aspect of the artist that is typically unknown. In the tradition of a museum rotating its collection, the installation manifests in multiple iterations throughout the run, providing insight into artists through the things they look at and possess.
