Soundrotation in conjunction with Arts + Public Life presents:
The Rear View Mirror Sessions with curator Duane Powell

The Rear View Mirror Sessions is a series of lectures and listening sessions which focus on influential unsung artists and legends and how they influence music today. The program will provide insight into artists who influenced Chicago and beyond by exploring their lives through history and their music.

For this inaugural session, we will take a journey through the vast career of one of the world’s international treasures: Chicago-born Quincy Delight Jones Jr. The program will happen during the week of Quincy’s 84th birthday.

Quincy Jones has had a career spanning more than six decades. His career has spanned across musical genres from jazz to classical, pop to R&B and crossed over to cinema and television. This session will shed light and celebrate his accomplishments and historical imprint.

This edition of The Rear View Mirror Sessions will include a performance of Quincy Jones compositions by Sam Trump.
