Nov 17th 2016

Join us at the UIC School of Art & Art History on November 17th for a night of talks, open studios, screenings, and more!

Making It
6-7pm
Join us at Gallery 400 for an open and frank conversation about the ways that artists make it in the world—and what does it mean to make it as an artist? Alums from every discipline discuss how they make and present work today; how they cultivate community with fellow artists; and how they forge relationships with curators, programmers, and gallerists. Enjoy drinks and hors d’oeuvres with our extraordinary alumni in Chicago.

Senior Thesis BFA and MFA Open Studios
7-9pm
See the work of the current cohort of the Senior Thesis BFA class and experience the energy of this exciting young group of emerging artists.

Get an inside look at the studios of the UIC MFA program while indulging in delicious artful snacks prepared by local chef favorites and imbibe with drinks from Revolution Brewery.

Take in a special exhibition curated by Michael Darling, Chief Curator of the MCA, highlighting the best work of the MFA artists.

Watch a selection of films and videos in the screening room curated by the Film Rescue program.

9pm
Karaoke Bar
Keep the party going and join us for karaoke and a bar inspired by Tom Marioni’s Drinking Beer With Friends is the Highest Form of Art.
