Out of Site continues its series of unexpected encounters in public space throughout Wicker Park-Bucktown.

Out of Site Chicago supports contemporary performance artists to create new work that engages directly with the public. Artists are invited to select public sites that resonate with their practice. Our mission is to bring cultural experiences to everyone facilitating unique surprises for people as they come home from work. We curate work that brings joy, is provocative, and transports people out of their daily routines to create a moment of reflection and wonder in their lives.

Week 3 will include performances by:

Saturday, August 15 2pm-4pm
Coral Short presents “Chimera,” in which performers don readymade body extension costumes to create a brand new transformative walking performance. Short has performed internationally for the last 15 years. Melding nightlife with fine art, her practice casts magic spells on her audiences enabling them to understand that many fantastical realities can and do happen at any given moment. Her group work ranges from intimate collaborations to large scale interactive performances with over 500 people. Short has many beloved people, communities, and locations that she calls home. Short and her countless projects move at the speed of light; ironically she is the most still when she travels. She spends a fair amount of time dispersing her magic around the globe – in the air, on railroad tracks and highways. She lives on the edge of enchantment. (coralshort.com)
