Mindy Rose Schwartz is a sculptor living in Chicago. She is interested in the way an individual’s experiences with and memories of, mass-produced objects, can alter their intended meaning and function. She makes sculptures that attempt to show the morphing effect, use, experience, and emotion can have on our perception of things.

She is an Instructor at the Art Institute of Chicago and studied at the University of Illinois at Urbana and the University of Illinois at Chicago. Exhibitions include: Arcadia Missa, London; Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions, LA; Rose Art Museum, Boston; The Temporary Space, Houston; Fountain Gallery, New York; and in Chicago the QT Gallery, Three Walls Gallery, Renaissance Society, Gallery 400, Hyde Park Art Center and the Spertus Museum among others.

Catie Olson is multi-disciplinary artist born in Decatur, Illinois. She received her BS from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Agriculture and received her BFA at the School of the Art Institute. She often works multi-disciplinary and with focus on interactive kinetic sculptures and sound. Catie organizes SpiderBug, a mobile short film festival, and also Floor Length and Tux, a domestic art space. She has shown work in Chicago including Heaven, The Garfield Park Conservatory, The Franklin, Swimming Pool, Antena Gallery, and Defibrillator Performance Gallery.

SPIDERBUG SCREENING
The Call of the Jabberwocky program is organized by SpiderBug, a mobile short film/video festival. The program is compiled of short, silent films/videos that help untangle or tangle further Lewis Carrol’s Jabberwocky and Alice’s adventures within the back-to-front world of a looking glass.”

The silent moving images will be accompanied by a live electric, acoustic and well costumed orchestra, the Bodice Cobra Philharmonia. Members of the Bodice Cobra Philharmonia are Bruce Neal, Sean De Santis, EC Brown and Catie Olson.
