Axis and Allies is an exhibition and conversation series seeking to pair MFA-holding or seeking artists from different institutions in an effort to expand contextual circles and encourage critical discourse between geographically and/or educationally disparate practices through conversation and exhibition. Such an exhibition series allows for the creation of productive relationships through both harmonious and incongruent associations.

Sara Rouse relocated from Chattanooga, TN to Chicago to pursue an MFA at the University of Chicago. She is interested in art making as exercise, a conditoning of attention and focus as well as questions surrounding time and materiality. She has work forthcoming in Go Away Ghost Ship, Logan Center Exhibitions, Chicago IL.

Krissy Wilson is a Chicago-based writer and artist. Originally from Miami, FL, she recently completed an MFA in Writing at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her ongoing poetic project Detritus, chronicled at poemsfromthethames.tumblr.com, has taken her to trash beaches across the world in search of textual fragments of glass, pottery, porcelain, and brick. She has work currently on display in Media Futures at the Sullivan Galleries and has work forthcoming in Rendered in an Idiom Other Than For Scientists at Mana Contemporary Chicago and ATTENTION at the Biennale Internationale Design Saint-Etienne.
