David Krofta: Finders Keepers

@ Peanut Gallery

1000 N California Ave Chicago, IL 60622

Opening Sunday, August 17th, from 5PM - 9PM

On view through Sunday, September 14th

When Benji hears that a hermit named Magi Obdachlos has an enchanted bearskin he gathers his courage and becomes determined to try and steal it. Things go poorly for Benji as the suit is cursed and begins to bond with Benji, transforming him into a four armed giant: part-boy, part-bear. In an attempt to try and reclaim the suit from Benji, Magi Obdachlos conjures a fire sprite to rescue the bearskin from the boy.

The installations that make up Finders Keepers trace the adventures of Benji and features vignettes and sculptures that seek to explore the fantastical terrain of a young boy coming of age, enchanted objects, magic, and the price of making something yours.
