Time Zone

@ Chicago Artists' Coalition

217 N. Carpenter Street, Chicago, IL 60607

Opening Friday, June 8th, from 6PM - 9PM

On view through Thursday, June 28th

Chicago Artists’ Coalition is pleased to present TIME ZONE, a two person exhibition featuring the work of HATCH Projects’ artists Barbara Blacharczyk and Renee Prisble, curated by Thea Liberty Nichols. Both Blacharczyk and Prisble share an earthy color palette and mine the natural world for source material, but their respective engagement with time differentiates them. While Blacharczyk’s large-scale works on paper move through time to portray winged birds or insects in Muybridge-esque intervals of motion, Prisble’s series of works on paper and sculpture travel across time, combining the art of the ancient Pueblo with the scientific phases of cellular generation. Their work will be presented in concert with each other within CAC’s main gallery space, as well as separately, in respective micro-exhibitions curated by each artist and featuring their own work. There will be an opening reception on Friday, June 8 from 6-9pm, and the exhibition will run through June 28, 2012.
