Cultivator is pleased to present Tariq Tamir’s outdoor exhibition, Cultivators: The Way of Women, during Bray Grove Farm’s Spring Farm Day. Cultivators: The Way of Women is an outdoor art exhibition in the field of Bray Grove Farm. Combining natural and salvaged materials, paint, textiles, and other items, Tamir composes intricately textured assemblages. His art is both playful and serious, containing moments of joy and wonder with heartfelt thoughtful contemplation.

Artist Statement
Cultivators: The Way of Women – We as a society are nothing without the nurturing, the Will and the way of Women. A true crux (and sometimes crutch) of our world. Our construction begins with their instruction from the Cradle to the Grave.

Tariq Tamir is an artist and educator based in the Chicago area. His art, consisting of assemblages, paintings, found objects, and poetry, is both playful and serious, containing moments of joy and wonder with heartfelt thoughtful contemplation.

He has exhibited his art in solo and group exhibitions in venues such as the Riverside Arts Center and RAW. The artist has been featured in numerous videos for RBTV’s People in Perspective, the Riverside Arts Center, and the Oak Park Public Library.

Tamir received his BFA from Columbia College in Chicago and continues to expand his knowledge through teaching art. He has taught at Chicago’s Gallery 37, the Boys and Girls Club, and is the lead instructor at the Riverside Arts Center.
