Join Illinois Network of Charter Schools and Weinberg/Newton Gallery for the opening celebration of “Don’t I Get a Dream for Myself?” an exhibition of Illinois Charter Student artwork.
Young people make up nearly a quarter of the population of Illinois, but their voices and perspectives are often left out of discussions. We are creating a space for students to share their perspective through art that answers the question:“What do you dream of?” Dreams express our desires for ourselves and our world. We hope students will use this question as the inspiration for their artwork. Students’ works of art will give viewers insight into young people’s hearts and minds. These works may also begin conversations that will help to make those dreams become reality.
Light refreshments and snacks will be served.
Awards will be presented at 6:30pm.
Due to capacity limitations of the space, RSVP is strongly encouraged. Visitors without a reservation may have to wait outside of the gallery until space becomes available.
