we’re seismographs we’re Geiger counters we’re live wires leaving our record with paint and canvas that atavistic medium
we’re transmitting the joy and poison and ecstasy and doom of this mass extinction event on these exhibit walls in their actual size

the non-arrival of utopia thundering our eardrums
and yet we make marks
no buttons to push no screens to caress
just liquid colors’ path across a portable surface
forms hopping and skipping across a chicago sidewalk
look through the window there it is
