Nov 16th 2022

The Renaissance Society is pleased to announce the publication of Matthew Metzger: Heirloom. Developed on the occasion of Metzger’s 2021 exhibition at the Renaissance Society, this is the first book dedicated to the artist’s paintings, which explores various kinds of abstraction and tensions related to language, color, and more.

Join us for a book launch on Wednesday, November 16th, featuring readings from the publication and a conversation between Matthew Metzger, Karsten Lund, and Karen Reimer.

This event will take place nearby on campus at the Study Hotel.

All Renaissance Society publications are made possible by The Mansueto Foundation Publications Program. Additional support for this book was provided by r/e projects and Alan and Sherry Koppel.

The Study at University of Chicago is the Renaissance Society’s Exclusive Hotel Sponsor.
