Course Description:

Have you always wanted to print at LATITUDE, but don’t know where to start?! Have no fear, Intro to Printing is here!

This is a 3 part workshop consisting of instructional videos, a zoom session and an in person session at LATITUDE:

• Part 1 (asynchronous): Watch instructional videos on vimeo.com at your own pace.

• Part 2 (virtual): Meet on Zoom with LATITUDE’s Executive Director to receive a virtual tour of the lab and go over any questions from the instructional videos.

  • Monday, Monday, February 7th at 6:30pm CST

  • *If you are not able to attend this zoom session, email education@latitudechicago.org and we will set up another time with you.

• Part 3 (in person): Come into LATITUDE for one hour to apply all your knowledge and make your 2(8×10) prints.

Wednesday February 9th from 6-7pm OR 7:30-8:30pm CST

Join us for this introductory course covering the basics of printing on Epson printers with a color-managed workflow. You’ll walk away with the confidence to enter the lab and print on your own with minimal assistance, as well as two 8”x 10” prints of your own work! Completing all three parts of the workshop is mandatory to be certified to print at LATITUDE as a DIY user.

Intro to Printing covers:

• Getting to know LATITUDE!

• Paper selection, handling & loading

• File prep, resolution, & management

• Photoshop print settings & ICC profiles

• Printer settings & basic troubleshooting

Space is limited to 8 participants total so grab your spot early! For the in-person portion of the class, 2 time slots will be available to choose from, and each of those sessions will be capped at 4 attendees. Attending both the zoom and in-person session is mandatory to be certified to print as a DIY user at LATITUDE.

If you need to cancel your reservation for any reason, LATITUDE can provide a 100% refund for cancellations made 10 days prior to the start date of the course. Cancellations made with less than the 10 day notice will be given a 100% lab credit. No refund will be guaranteed for cancellations made on the start day of the course or after and will be considered on a case to case basis.
