An exhibit and talk to celebrate publication of the first book about one of the world’s great art treasures, which lies hidden in plain sight along Chicago’s Lake Michigan shore: Thousands of vernacular stone carvings made over the course of the 20th century. They are magnificent yet rarely recognized, until now. Author and photographer William Swislow, photographer and essayist Aron Packer, and designer Don Di Sante will be there to talk about the carvings and to sign books. Images of carvings featured in the book will be on exhibit.
