Source Recursions

@ The Martin

2500 W Chicago Ave, Chicago, IL 60622

Opening Saturday, October 2nd, from 6PM - 9PM

On view through Sunday, October 10th

Source Recursions is a unique exhibition combining an exhibition, architectural sculptures and movement from artists Michelle Kranicke, Michael Workman and Dave Sundry and their respective artistic endeavors.

Source Recursions considers the implications of public, rule-based space, and investigates how language, which we use to articulate these rules, informs our movement through the built environment.

Painting and drawing works explore the boundaries where language as poetic imagery become mental images that surround the architectural structures around and within which dance movement is made.

As a precursor to the Assembly Zones program, Source Recursions will offer an exploded view of the artistic questions that have arisen in the course of charting a course to merging architecture in public space with the public health and wellness questions that launched the effort.

The exhibition will include:

Instructional walking tour of artwork inside of the space and the neighborhood
Exhibition on display with works by Michael Workman and Dave Sundry
Listening station utilizing Mat Rappaport’s Range Mobile Lab
Bridge literary journal display
