Artemisia Gentileschi was a woman of talent and passion that poured out onto her canvas. Her Italian Baroque artwork depicting women from the bible and from mythology, lending a unique perspective to a time where few women were allowed to produce great works of art. Learning under her father, whose inspiration was Caravaggio, she experienced great hardships and injustice while learning her craft. Some of her work was even edited to protect her from even more ridicule and hardship, toned down to make it more palatable for the public.
