Join us for an artist talk and discussion with Christine Wallers to look back at romansusan.org/moth and explore new work.
I am a non-representational artist using materials ranging from glass, wire, and metal to paper, ink, and light. I maintain an artistic practice that favors the imperfect, ritualistic, and contemplative processes of hand rendering. The result is work that exudes a palpable, life-like energy that moves viewers beyond conceptual understanding into visceral recognition and empathy. I challenge the viewer’s experience by asking for presence, concentration, and consideration of the subtleties within my work as a way to comment on a culture that holds high regard for spectacles, monuments, grandiose gestures, and immediate gratification.
