Aug 20th 2020

Join us for Art After Work, a free series of drop-in art-making. On August 20, art educator and Intuit Teacher Fellow Dorothy Broers will facilitate an art-making workshop inspired by self-taught artist Elijah Pierce, whose work is featured in the exhibition Outsider Art: The Collection of Victor F. Keen. We will draw inspiration from renowned woodcarver Elijah Pierce to craft our own soap carvings!

Suggested materials:
– Bar of soap (even a slightly used one)
– Pencil
– Paper
– Scissors
– Cutting and carving tools such as a plastic butter knife, paper clip, hairpin, popsicle stick, toothpick or other tools you have around the house

This workshop is for everyone, including beginners and people who say they “are not artists.” We look forward to creating with everyone who joins!

Art After Work is a guided workshop, and instruction will begin at 5 p.m. central.

Two hours before the event, Intuit will email the Zoom link to those who RSVP on Eventbrite. We will share the link here and on the event web page on our website.
