Next Saturday, July 21st, Heather Mekkelson will be available for socially distanced walk throughs of her solo exhibition, Reverse Prophesies, at 65GRAND. There will be 20 minute time slots available from noon-3pm. They will be limited to 2 guests at a time (please note that face coverings are required). Heather Mekkelson is a sculptor living in Chicago. Her work has been seen in solo exhibitions at 65GRAND, ThreeWalls, 4th Ward Project Space, STANDARD, Medicine Cabinet and Old Gold (all Chicago.) Group exhibition venues include the Museum of Contemporary Photography (Chicago), The Poor Farm (Manawa, WI), The Figge Art Museum (Davenport, IA) as well as numerous local and national galleries. Mekkelson’s work has been featured in Art Journal, Art21 Magazine, Artforum.com, Artnet, Flavorpill, Hyperallergic, Newcity, Time Out Chicago, and others. She has been the recipient of several fellowships and grants including the 2012 Arcadia Award and the Illinois Arts Council Fellowship in Visual-Based Arts (Sculpture) 2020 Award.
