This event has been canceled.

As a blind art lover, author and teacher Georgina Kleege happily takes advantage of museum access programs around the world, but often find that the institutions could do more to collect and disseminate the insights that blind and visually impaired guests gain from these experiences. Join us as Georgina recounts successful and collaborative projects with cultural spaces from her personal archive, to suggest that access needs to be understood as something beyond an act of charity or compliance- true access is a two-way interaction that can enlarge cultural understanding for everyone. A Q&A and networking opportunity will immediately follow the lecture.

The following accommodations will be available:
– wheelchair access
– open captions
– assistive listening devices
– accessible restrooms

To request additional accommodations, please contact us by email at info@chicagoculturalaccess.org.

All CCAC events are scent-free; please refrain from wearing products with fragrance such as perfume, cologne, and lotion.
