Aidōs

@ Adds Donna

3252 W North Ave, Chicago, IL 60647

Opening Friday, January 31st, from 6 PM - 9 PM

On view through Sunday, March 1st

‘Aidōs’ features new and seasoned work by Chicago based painter Sofia Macht as well as a special collaboration with ceramicist Emily Sher. Macht’s tactile paintings and soft sculptures capture the performative gestures, shared narratives, and support structures of intimacy. Described by Anne Carson, aidōs is the acknowledgement of a shared boundary protected by the mutual shyness radiating between lover and beloved. This exhibition is a letter in earnest to the palpable affinity trapped in a shared side eyed gaze between close friends or lovers. Join us for the opening January 31st at Adds Donna from 6PM — 9PM. Curated by Ashley Janke.
