Join us for a special Wednesday edition of Tangelo, featuring readings from Sarah Kokernot, L. D. Barnes, Joseph Demes & Brendan White!

L. D. Barnes is a literary homicidal maniac who writes and performs on Chicago’s far south side, proving that literature exists outside of Hyde Park. She is published in Revise The Psalm, Works Celebrating The Writings of Gwendolyn Brooks, The Skinny Poem Journal, the BACStreet Journal, Tallgrass Anthology and her debut novel The 107th Street Murder, the first of her Chicago Street Murders, a series of police procedural mysteries.

Joseph Demes is a writer, the managing editor for Funny Looking Dog Quarterly, and the fiction editor for Long Day Press. His work has been featured or is forthcoming in Quorum and Sobotka Literary Magazine. He lives in Chicago.

Sarah Kokernot’s fiction has appeared in Michigan Quarterly Review, Crazyhorse, Front Porch, West Branch, Lady Churchill’s Rosebud Wristlet, and has been anthologized in The Best American Short Stories. Originally from Kentucky, Sarah lives in Chicago with her husband and son. She works at StoryStudio, a nonprofit writing center, and is currently revising a novel.

Brendan White writes poetry book reviews and poems and works in local government in Chicago. His work may be found at BrendanWhiteWork.wordpress.com.
