Earlier this year, the University of Chicago’s Office of Civic Engagement convened business, workforce development, and housing organizations to gather local input on how to further the University’s community development work. The Neighborhood Network Alliance was one of 50 community partners that, through a series of meetings, helped to provide community expertise and guidance to the University on ways to strengthen its current initiatives and advance positive economic impact in neighboring communities.

Through that process, we learned a lot about the University’s current community-facing work that is not widely known and have invited Wendy Williams, Executive Director of Community Partnerships for the Office of Civic Engagement, to share an overview of the Office of Civic Engagement and talk about the existing initiatives and community partnerships across the University that are making a positive impact and contributing to economic inclusion on the South Side.

We still want you to come out, listen, ask questions, and join the economic development network for South Shore.
