Spudnik Resident Artist Celeste De Luna is a border/social engagement artist from the Rio Grande Valley in Texas. She is a front row witness as an artist/activist to the national conversations about the border wall, immigration, and border militarization.

As part of her residency and cultural exchange with Chicago printmakers, De Luna is leading a community art workshop where we will respond with visual art and creative writing to her reports on how social engagement artists and activists are working to decolonize the Border. All are welcome at this participatory event where we will collaboratively envision a different future that honors and centers the power of indigenous people, plants, and animals.

Free and open the public

This event is made possible with generous support from the National Endowment for the Arts Arts Work Grant.
