Join acupuncturist and artist Chiara Francesca Galimberti to talk about the basics of acupressure and moxa heat therapy to promote healing and well-being. Chiara will guide individuals on how to locate their own pressure points, and work with these areas to address tension, anxiety, digestive problems, headaches, insomnia, cramps, and other wellness issues. Chiara will also offer NADA ear acupuncture and ear seeds for stress and general detox.

This program is a pay-what-you-can workshop with all payments going directly to Chiara.

Originally from Italy, and currently residing in Chicago, Chiara Francesca Galimberti is an acupuncturist, artist, writer, immigrant, and former teen mother living with a disability. She completed a Master in Acupuncture at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, earned an MA in Italian Studies from New York University in 2015, and an MFA in Painting and Drawing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2012, where she was a Soros New American Fellow. Her clinical focus is on mental health, trauma, CPTSD, and queer/trans health. She is committed to making healthcare accessible and in building collaborative healing spaces.

Chiara is also involved in the Chicago Healing Justice Network, which aims to promote healing justice from an anti-oppression framework. Chiara organized and participated in free community acupuncture events at a variety of local and national sites, including the Allied Media Conference in Detroit, the Chicago Women’s Health Clinic, and Mujeres Latinas en Accion. Before moving to Chicago, she worked as a Domestic Violence Crisis Counselor and ER Advocate with Middle Way House in Bloomington, Indiana. She also directed Building Healthy Relationships, a gender violence prevention program for teens. She recently co-organized the Healing Justice Practice Space for the Allied Media Conference in Detroit and the Healing Justice Practice Space at the Teachers for Social Justice Conference in Chicago.
