Hush City Soundwalk

@ PO Box Collective

6900 N Glenwood Ave, Chicago, IL 60626

Opening Sunday, September 15th, from 10AM - 11:30AM

Join us at 10:00 AM Sunday at PO Box Collective, 6900 N Glenwood for free, public guided soundwalk led by Eric Leonardson, founder and President of the Midwest Society for Acoustic Ecology.

Starting on September 1st 2019 and continuing during the month, 19 Hush City Soundwalks will be guided by different soundwalk leaders in multiple locations worldwide, using the Hush City app.

The event will be one of many during the Global Program of Hush City Soundwalks taking place this September, in multiple cities worldwide to celebrate the Sound Walk Sunday 2019.

Hush City is a mobile phone app developed by Berlin-based architect Antonella Radicchi for mapping and evaluating quiet areas in cities. Participants may download and use the free app if they wish or just enjoy the socially and ecologically redeeming aspects of a group soundwalk through the Rogers Park neighborhood and its public spaces.

PO Box Collective is a friendly community art center where the program begins. As a group we walk east to the Loyola Dune Habitat, on the shore of Lake Michigan. Most of our time will be spent in this vicinity including Tobey Prinz Beach Park and the Community Garden. Our group will return to P0 Box Collective to discuss and conclude our experiences, finishing at 11:30 AM.
