Make Yourself Useful is raising funds this labor day weekend (8/31+9/1) for OCAD (Organized Communities Against Deportations) and RAICES (The Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services).

To put our $6,000 goal in perspective, $1500 is the minimum amount to post bond for 1 person in immigration detention.

We are completely outraged by the racist, dehumanizing, and fatal treatment of migrants, especially children, on our southern border.

OCAD and RAICES are frontline organizations fighting tirelessly against deportations, migrant detention, family separation, and other needless cruelties both on the border and here in Chicago.

We set up this fundraiser for folks who are unable to make it to the fundraising events or anyone who wishes to make a donation.

The art pictured above is by Chicago artist Yvette Mayorga, and will be available for bidding in the art auction on 8/31.
