GUIDED MEDITATION with Kay Hubbard, founder of of ArtKure!
artKure is a community that explores the possibilities of collaboration between healing and creative arts.

After meditating with Kay, Mojdeh Stoakley (The Afro+naut) will lead a brief writing workshop to generate new thoughts/words/art/journal entries where we envision a radical new world of self care and community care alike!

Mojdeh Stoakley is an award winning and internationally touring poet. Education Director of Poets with Class at Chicago Poetry Center, Founder of Lethal Poetry, Director of 29th National Poetry Center, board member for Surviving The Mic, front person of »radiant devices«, and of course 2019 Elastic Arts Dark Matter Artist-In-Residence!

Suggested donation is $10 BUT PAY WHAT YOU CAN!
Meaning, NO ONE will be turned away for lack of funds!
Also meaning, if you have greater means, MAKE IT RAIN on the facilitator! The equity of black and brown performers matters!

ACCESSIBILITY: This venue has no elevator or lift. The Afro+naut gladly waives the cost of entry to any person(s) still willing to attend and the person(s) who help with assisting someone up the stairs.

The event is a part of Elastic Arts’ Dark Matter Residency! Mojdeh Stoakley’s Afro+naut and the Afro-nots project (aka Afronaut Lab) was selected as one of the 2019 Artists-In-Residence. The Afro+naut is a Social Practice Artist initiative which engages social dialog and action via the platform of art.

This event will be recorded (audio and video) if you do not wish to be documented, you’re welcome to wear your batman or robin hood mask! But please still place yourself in the room to support the art and healing practices of black and brown people!

For questions, message Afro+naut and the Afro-nots!
