Richard “Richie” Parks

@ SAIC at Homan Square

906 S Homan Ave, Chicago, IL 60624

Opening Wednesday, July 10th, from 6:30PM - 8:30PM

Invisible Podcast Radio and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) team up for a series of workshops led by local artists and entrepreneurs. Workshops will meet twice monthly at Nichols Tower.

Richie Parks is a designer originally from Suffolk, Virginia.

“Growing up in a military household I’ve become an expert at two things: making new friends and push-ups. Moving from place to place and listening to people has taught me that everyone has a unique story worthy of being heard. I’ve always made it my mission to listen to others but never knew how to fuse it with my passion for visual and physical craft. It wasn’t until I learned the value of “listening with my hands” that my purpose was to amplify the knowledge that I obtain into digestible, accessible presentation. Design allows me to utilize insights I gain from peoples’ stories to physically and digitally craft memorable experiences that deserve to live. I’m able to execute this by conducting thorough research, fostering ideas, and drinking lots of tea.”

This series represents a partnership between SAIC and Invisible Podcast Radio, a platform for supporting Chicago artists by showcasing their craft, ambition and identity in the arts sphere. The IPR x SAIC Visiting Artist Series will be facilitated by Invisible Podcast Radio (soundcloud.com/invisiblepodcastradio).
