UV radiation is also produced by electric arcs. Arc welders must wear eye protection and cover their skin to prevent photokeratitis and serious sunburn. Ultraviolet (UV) is electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength from 10 nm to 400 nm, shorter than that of visible light but longer than X-rays. UV radiation is present in sunlight constituting about 10% of the total light output of the Sun. UltraViolet-A light is long-wave, black light, not absorbed by the ozone layer.
We are excited to show an immersive interactive art experience and exhibition entitled UltraViolet-A. Come into the dark with us and experience art on a level you’ve never witnessed before.
Artists displaying their work include: Melina Scott, Dan Spectre, Constance Volk, Lorca Jolene, Seph Victor Mercado, Jeff Zelnio, Nicole Van Dyken, and Ken Klopack.
These events are free of charge and provide the community of Bridgeport and the Chicago area a unique opportunity to explore a blend of international and local art. The artists-in-residence at the Art Center open their studios to visitors, making this a unique opportunity for the community to meet working artists and discuss their work in person.
