The Office of Metaphor
Amber Ginsburg and Rebecca Keller
“What does it look like, right now, to have a public and political practice that delves into history and a deep craving for the cloister of a solitary studio?”
Amber Ginsburg and Rebecca Keller are artists who, individually, pursue wide-ranging research based, and often site generated practices. Over the past decade they have developed and produced collaborative works across shared interests, concerns, and method.
Through the process of discerning an approach to their residency they have discovered a sympathetic craving for a space to think and work in an open ended, exploratory way. Sensitive to the onslaught of political, environmental and technological accelerations, they will use their residency at WEDGE as time and space that allows for experimentation, collaborative conversation and open-ended exploration.
Loosley structured around thinking and research related to Metaphor, and beginning with a series of objects placed with and among unspooled rolls of paper, their explorations will inhabit the room, making public an investigation into their practices.
