@ MICKEY

1635 W Grand Ave. Chicago, IL 60622

Opening Saturday, September 29th, from 6PM - 10PM

On view through Sunday, November 4th

MICKEY is pleased to present Michael Madrigali with our inaugural exhibition Night Kite. The exhibition will be on display from September 29th to November 4th 2018.

Look at that Kite. That’s here. That’s home. That’s us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every animal who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and gardener, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every cat and bird, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every “superstar,” every “supreme leader,” every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there–on a Kite suspended in the Night.

Michael Madrigali (b. Santa Barbara, 1985) lives and works in Chicago. His practice is studio-centric working from a launching point of collage and additive processes. His work centers on themes of art history, taxonomical thinking, nature, and obfuscation of systems.
