Chelsea Tinsley: did you forget about me?
Curated by Taylor Hansen Hughes
Join us for a retro(per)spective in a tiny music box. We can promise tools in drag, home made somethings, forget me nots and bitter sweet dreams. Looking forward 🕯
Chelsea Tinsley is a textile artist living and working in Chicago. She received her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a concentration in Fiber & Material Studies in 2016. Her work is rooted in weaving and she has experience in multiple fiber techniques. Along with making one-of-a-kind art objects, she wants these objects to be functional in the home.
Much of Chelsea’s work deals with utility, labor, and gender roles. She is interested in how certain objects and processes are inherently feminine or masculine and what happens when these processes, images, objects intersect and converse.
