The Chicago Poetry Center’s Six Points Reading Series is having their 2nd Annual Water Taxi Reading in partnership with National Poetry Slam!

We will meet at the Chicago Water Taxi Michigan stop which is located between Trump International Hotel & Tower and the Wrigley Building at the start of The Magnificent Mile on Michigan Avenue. We will get on the taxi at 1:00 PM for a discounted rate of $2.50 per person.

** National Poetry Slam is an ADA accessible festival. For wheelchair access to the Water Taxi, please arrive at the Riverwalk stop at 1:10 PM. **

Timothy Rey will host and emcee the reading. Attendees will be able to sign up to read their own original poetry and will end with a reading by a featured poet. Then, we will all get off at the Chinatown stop, which is located on the South Branch of the Chicago River right in the heart of the beautiful, 12-acre Ping Tom Memorial Park.

Timothy Rey is a Chiago-based writer, performer, and educator. His book of poetry and performance, Little Victories, was published in 2012 by NewTown Writers Press. He is the co-founder of the LGBT Solo Performance Showcase, Solo Homo (2002-2011), and a semi-finalist for the Gwendolyn Brooks Open-Mic Poetry Award. His work has been featured on WBEZ and at venues across Chicago, as well as the International Fringe Festival and The Kennedy Center For The Performing Arts in New York.

Join The Chicago Poetry Center and National Poetry Slam Chicago on August 16, 2018 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Chicago Water Taxi for $2.50 per person (cash or credit).
